Selected Exhaled Biomarker Abstracts from ATS 2015

Discover selected exhaled biomarker abstracts from ATS 2015, spotlighting new findings to advance respiratory research and clinical practice.

Thank you all for visiting our booth at the American Thoracic Society International Conference 2015 in Denver last month.  It was great to see you and learn more about your specific research interests.  Three trends became evident from our conversations and a review of the abstracts presented:

  • The pace of exhaled biomarker research is accelerating
  • Measurement of Volatile Organic Compounds in exhaled breath is becoming central to the field
  • Potentially prognostic genetic markers of lung cancer in breath condensate are emerging

The 21 abstracts below were selected from the full list of ATS 2015 abstracts found at:

http://www.atsjournals.org/doi/book/10.1164/ajrccm-conference.2015

Hopefully we didn’t miss any relevant to the field of exhaled biomarker research, but if we did, please let us know and we’ll update this post.

As a side note, we specifically excluded eNO abstracts since this is becoming established clinically and is essentially a category in of itself.  Our focus continues to be on other emerging research.

Happy reading!
